The Perfect Storm; In a window that double reflects everything a cool thing happened. 3 girls walked by pushing bikes making for a perfect storm and seemingly endless tripped out bikes

The Lucky shell; I went out wandering and when i took my first shot at a photo i realized i left my CF card at home...i was so sad. That day i had to walk around with a camera that didnt do me any good. i found this shell on the ground and i decided to take it home with me. It was the one thing i could salvage on my trip. Im saving it for my friend Sami.

BAM! Lightning doesnt strike here often. So i was thrilled to see one shoot out here. This was taken from my bedroom window.
Week 9; Babies, Hong Kong, turtle orgies and more. The weather at the end of this week changed from sunny to rainy. The kind of days i enjoy! looking forward to next week. Looking forward to everyday!

Uncle Rocky and Joey; I take a picture of Joey's hand and mine behind it as he lay in his crib. Later in the week Joe would reveal to me how these balled up fists of his managed to sock himself in the face a few times while flailing around.

The Salamander pit; Joe took me to a bird park in Hong Kong. While i didnt manage any pictures of birds there were salamanders down here....

The Lightning Strike; I feel my dad would of been proud. Most lightning shots i achieve actually look like Lightning. But due to a particular filter i had mounted on my camera i took this shot of lightning mid-day during a storm. It really wasn't that close but it seemed so once the thunder clapped. Since we are in the city the sound of Thunder got trapped in all the streets, alleyways and nooks inside one area and reverberated the roaring sound of thunder as if we were trapped in a bowl of it. It was such a rush! What a moment.
Week 8; I continue to plow along i guess.

Canary Crib; Mama waves around a fake canary above the babies crib on saturday. I wasnt sure why...but then Hope told me she was testing the babies hearing.
Week 7; This was the week that brought home little Joey Jr!!! It was everything unexpected except one thing...i expected it to be the most wonderful situation id ever been through and that expectation held serve. It has seemed to vault me into an almost otherworldy mood. I am photographing like a mad man since his birth.

Joeseph Beckley Li Hau-Koung Mock is born. This little butterball weighed in at 7 and half pounds and was born on March 15th a little after 6. The mother had an all natural birth and the both of them are doing just fine. Uncle Rocky on the other hand has some diaper learning to grasp.

Id seen this man from the 14th floor of the hospital walking back and forth over this trail. I ran down stairs and across the street to get a shot of him in his own little world.

On Her Feet Again; After a few days bedriddden after the birth Hope walks around tended by her husband Joe.

Joeys roomate! Joey (pictured on top) shares a bed momentarily with another child before being wheeled to the bath. In the morning the hospital rounds up all the babies and takes them in for a cleaning.

Vision Quest
The Vision quest looms as the sun makes its turn
bringing us great fortune in this year we're re-born
we lift up our souls and dangle our feet
high from the perch of last years deceit
the gods carry on and they give us a choice
follow the sound or ignore the grand voice
accepting yourself is reviving yourself which leads to
an enjoyable everything else
"it is what it is" rings out deep inside
not from my heart and not from my mind
my body sighs relief as i feel the hole close
consciously my mind doesnt even know
ive healed and im here, living on strong
the vision quest is upon us, someday at dawn

Little Badass! I heard a banging in the park and it drew me closer. I didnt know it was from this fella

Silent Path
Silence arrives when my footsteps stop
the deafening absence vanishes with rain drops
pattering on leaves and worn out dirt
the silence is lost and far from this earth
the rain stops and the birds chime
singing their songs of rhythm and rhyme
darkness ensues not after long
making me realize silence is never really gone
Always there hidden underground
Always there when there is no sound
Week 6; this will be the last week photographing without baby in our lives :) Cant wait!!!
Week 5; A week of walk in the parks.

Week 4; A productive week 4 features photos of my friend Sean, the eerie abandoned streets of China later night, stops at the museum and photos from my favorite park. It was productive week that featured me shooting everyday, feeling inspired.

Here in China coffee isnte really everyones first choice in drink. Burried beneath tea coffee isnt even an option really. Starbucks thankfully is in one of the malls nearby and they sell coffee by the bag. Also thank the angels for whoever gave my brother and his wife a coffee maker. To celebrate the fact i have coffee on hand i took this self portrait of me in the apartment. Casual day of laundry and a fresh cup of joe. What a great feeling.
